Nation's Home Medical Equipment is seeking a DME Service Technician to work closely with patients, caregivers, and clients/healthcare professionals throughout Maryland and DC!
The schedule is Mon-Fri 11:30 AM - 8 PM, with some overtime depending on traffic conditions and unexpected delays, and a rotating on-call schedule.
Core responsibilities:
- Responsible for delivery, pickup, and maintenance of medical equipment and supplies to homes and healthcare institutions
- Responsible for using EMR systems to complete customer orders, manage inventory, and update any service changes
- Maintain and account for all inventory in the company delivery vehicle and the company system before leaving to start the route for day
- Make all deliveries, service calls, and pickups in an efficient and safe manner
- Maintain a professional attitude toward all Nation's customer contacts and employees
- Maintain a neat and clean appearance (company uniform provided)
- Comply and acknowledge orders given by distribution dispatcher and manager
- Comply with all DOT and FDA regulations as they pertain to Oxygen and DME
- Provide patient/client education and instructions on the proper use of equipment when applicable
- Communicate any changes or orders that may not be completed to appropriate stakeholder
- Assist in cleaning, disinfecting, and minor repair of some equipment
Compliance responsibility
- Load and unload equipment in an orderly and safe manner in accordance with set policies and procedures
- Track all medical gas distributed in hazard material manifests
- Clean, disinfect, repair, and check the quality of all products in accordance with procedures
- Complete all required training provided by the company
Vehicle Responsibilities
- Keep vehicle is clean and clutter free
- Maintain a valid driver's license and a clean motor vehicle record (no more than 2 points)
- Reporting any vehicle issues, violations, and/or accidents to the Manager
- Perform vehicle inspections and report any issues to leadership
Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record and no more than 2 points
- Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs without assistance
- Familiarity with or ability to learn use of EMR systems, inventory tracking tools, and Office 365
- Basic mechanical skills for assembly, troubleshooting, and minor repair of equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and electronic communication skills
- Knowledge of durable medical supplies and home healthcare preferred
- Prior training in infection control practices, equipment maintenance, or hazardous materials handling preferred
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), regulatory standards, and company policies
- Strong time management and route planning skills; ability to work independently in the field
- Ability to collaborate interdepartmentally with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call shifts, weekends, and holidays
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
