Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The Laser Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting equipment to produce precise metal components according to technical specifications. This role demands a strong understanding of machine operation, safety standards, and technical blueprint interpretation. Duties
- Set up CNC laser cutting machines, including calibration and tooling adjustments, to ensure optimal performance.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to produce components that meet specifications.
- Operate CNC laser equipment safely while adhering to all safety standards and protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laser machinery to minimize downtime.
- Measure finished parts using precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges for quality control.
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving sheet metal, metal forming, and assembly processes.
- Maintain detailed records of production runs, machine settings, and inspection results for quality assurance.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards in production environments, including proper handling of electrical discharge machining (EDM), plasma cutting, and other fabrication tools.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting machines in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math.
- Proficiency in CNC programming and machine setup for various fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with safety standards related to machine operation, including press brakes, stamping presses, and welding equipment.
- Knowledge of measurement techniques using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Experience with related manufacturing equipment such as CNC milling machines, lathes, forming machines, and plasma cutters.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
