Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Supervisor, where your leadership and clinical expertise will directly impact patient care and staff development. In this vital role, you will oversee daily nursing operations within a long-term care or assisted living environment, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and delivering exceptional patient-centered care. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care delivery across all shifts
- Oversee clinical assessments, vital signs, medication administration, and documentation using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, long-term care regulations, and infection control policies while maintaining patient confidentiality
- Conduct patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs monitoring, and diagnostic evaluations for residents with diverse needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's, or developmental disabilities
- Manage acute pain cases, IV infusions, catheterizations, and ventilator care while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols
- Provide mentorship and training to nursing staff on topics such as ICD coding (ICD-9/10), wound care, tube feeding, and emergency procedures like CPR or first aid
Requirements
- Current valid licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the respective state or jurisdiction
- Proven experience in long-term care facilities, skilled nursing facilities, or assisted living environments with familiarity in geriatrics and memory care
- Demonstrated expertise in critical care areas such as ICU or emergency medicine settings; experience with Level I/II trauma centers is a plus
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; experience working with EMR/EHR management is preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology related to patient assessment and medication administration
- Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining clinical excellence under pressure in fast-paced environments such as hospital medicine or urgent care settings
- Excellent communication skills for caregiver interaction, client communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), or specialized training in hospice care or infectious disease management are advantageous
