Integrated HealthCare Solutions is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and professional Licensed Massage Therapist to provide massage therapy services in senior living communities, assisted living facilities, private residences, and community wellness events.

Therapists are assigned within an agreed-upon geographic territory based on their location, availability, and travel preferences. Applicants are not expected to serve every community within the IHS service area.

Position Overview
The Massage Therapist will provide safe, professional, and individualized massage therapy services based on each client’s needs, preferences, medical history, mobility, and tolerance.
Services may include:
- Swedish and relaxation massage
- Therapeutic massage
- Massage services adapted for older adults
- Chair massage
- Community wellness events and demonstrations
- 30-minute massage sessions
- 60-minute massage sessions
- 90-minute massage sessions
Many appointments occur within senior living communities. Whenever possible, IHS works to group multiple appointments at the same facility or within the same geographic area to reduce unnecessary travel and create a more efficient schedule.
Compensation
$40–$100 per completed session
Compensation varies based on:
- Session length
- Type of massage service provided
- Individual client appointment versus community event
- Assignment structure and location
- Any additional setup or program responsibilities
Massage Therapists retain 100% of all client tips.
Compensation for chair-massage programs, facility demonstrations, promotional events, and other community wellness programs will be established in advance based on the length and structure of the assignment.
Mileage, travel time, and other travel expenses are not separately reimbursed. IHS works to group appointments within the same senior community or geographic area whenever possible to create an efficient schedule and reduce unnecessary travel.
Equipment and Supplies
Massage Therapists are generally expected to provide and maintain the equipment and supplies necessary to perform their services, which may include:
- Portable massage table or massage chair
- Linens and protective coverings
- Lotion, cream, or massage oil
- Bolsters and positioning equipment
- Cleaning and sanitation supplies
- Other routine massage therapy materials
IHS may be able to arrange equipment or supplies when needed, particularly for recurring facility programs or community events. Any equipment support must be coordinated with IHS in advance.
Therapists are responsible for maintaining all personally supplied equipment in a clean, safe, and professional condition.
Scheduling
- Flexible Contractor, PRN or part-time scheduling
- Therapist availability established in advance
- Weekday, evening, and weekend opportunities may be available
- Opportunities for recurring weekly or monthly clients
- Potential to schedule multiple clients within the same senior community
- Opportunity to increase hours as the program and client base expand
Therapists may accept assignments based on their availability and agreed-upon geographic territory.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, professional, and individualized massage therapy services
- Review relevant client health information before beginning services
- Identify contraindications and determine whether massage is appropriate
- Modify techniques based on the client’s age, health status, medical history, comfort, mobility, and tolerance
- Explain services and obtain appropriate client consent
- Maintain professional boundaries and protect client privacy
- Complete required service records accurately and promptly
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional treatment environment
- Follow appropriate sanitation and infection-control procedures
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, facility staff, and the IHS administrative team
- Arrive on time and provide adequate notice of scheduling changes
- Represent IHS professionally during appointments, wellness events, demonstrations, and community programs
- Follow Maryland massage therapy requirements and applicable professional standards
- Report client concerns, incidents, or significant changes to the appropriate IHS representative
Massage Therapists may decline or discontinue a session when a contraindication is present, the treatment environment is unsafe, or a client’s behavior is inappropriate or inconsistent with professional massage therapy.
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Maryland massage therapy license or registration, as applicable
- Completion of an approved massage therapy education program
- Current professional liability insurance
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness to travel within an agreed-upon service territory
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer-service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage accepted appointments responsibly
- Ability to transport and set up required massage equipment when needed
- Ability to complete service records accurately and promptly
- Ability to successfully complete a background check
- Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
The following experience is helpful but not required:
- Experience working with older adults
- Experience serving clients with mobility limitations
- Experience in assisted living, independent living, memory care, rehabilitation, or home-based settings
- Experience providing chair massage
- Experience participating in wellness events or facility demonstrations
- Experience modifying massage services for clients with chronic health conditions
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Weekday, evening, or weekend availability
