Job Overview: The CSR is a compassionate advocate for every client and pet seeking care at our hospital. Our CSR’s play an intricate role in maintaining a positive and professional experience for our clients and staff. This position requires a strong focus in communication and practical knowledge of the ER department’s procedures, policies and services. The individual should be able to work in a team environment but also be able to work autonomously.
Essential Job Functions: To perform this job successfully an individual should be able to perform the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
● Providing excellent client service/communication by greeting, checking in/scheduling clients for surgical procedures, consults and follow up appointments.
● Operate a multi-line phone system while taking notes and recapping conversations.
● Discuss and review estimates/surgical plans, invoices, discharges as directed by the ER department doctor/technician.
● Process payments by counting and handling money accurately (for client invoices).
● Read and interpret various medical documents and reports.
● Utilize a variety of electronic equipment such as a computer, iPad, scanner, and credit card processing machine.
● Conflict resolution and defuse stressful situations with compassion.
● Monitor ER Dept. Email & Voicemail
General Responsibilities/Duties:
● Being a liaison between the doctor, technician, and the client.
● Self-motivated adaptable team player.
● Documenting medical information from various sources accurately.
● Maintaining cleanliness of the reception area and exam rooms.
● Willingness to learn and adapt to varying situations.
● Assist technicians in preparing prescriptions.
● Attend team or all staff meetings as they come up.
● Ethical responsibility to keep confidential patient records and information about clients.

Qualifications:
● Prior veterinary experience is required.
● High school diploma or equivalent.
Environmental and Physical Working Conditions:
● Lift up to 40 pounds.
● Repetitive movements (walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, twisting, and typing.)
● Possible exposure to medications, gas, radiation, chemicals, and zoonotic disease/illnesses.
● Loud animal noises (including barking, whining, crying, or vocalizing patients).
● Follow health and safety procedures as outlined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards/requirements.
● Scheduling (normally consisting of 8-12 hour shifts) where you are standing/walking for 50-75% of the shift.
Schedule: 3, 12-hour shifts per week, rotating weekends, 2-4 holidays per year
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
