St. James Catholic School, a hidden gem in North Miami, is seeking a creative and passionate Music Teacher & Director for the 2026–2027 school year. We are looking for an enthusiastic educator who inspires a love of music while enriching the spiritual life of our school community through liturgy, worship, and performance.
The Music Teacher & Director will plan and deliver engaging music instruction for students across multiple grade levels, direct the school's music program and choir, prepare music for school Masses, liturgical celebrations, concerts, and special events, and collaborate with faculty to foster a vibrant Catholic school community. The successful candidate will perform all duties in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Music or Music Education
- Florida Department of Education Teaching Certificate (temporary or professional), or eligibility to obtain certification
- Experience teaching music to school-age children; experience directing school music programs or choirs preferred
- Proficiency in vocal music and instrumental instruction; piano or keyboard accompaniment skills are a plus
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of the Roman Catholic liturgy and the ability to plan and lead liturgical music
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills
- Professional demeanor and collaborative spirit
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education; experience in a Catholic school environment preferred

Pay: Up to $60,000.00 per year
