The Sea Lion Dockside Bar is looking for a Retail / Barback Support team member to join our crew.
This is a fast-paced, high-volume sales role that blends retail, barback, and guest experience into one position. If you love talking with people, staying busy, and being part of a high-energy team—this could be a great fit.
This role is also a great foot in the door with opportunities to grow into Barista or Bartender positions.
_ What You’ll Do_
This role is all about supporting the entire building while driving sales and creating an amazing guest experience.
Sales & Guest Experience
- Greet every guest with energy and enthusiasm
- Let every customer know we offer coffee, retail, and a full bar on the back deck
- Help guide guests to the right area (coffee bar, retail shop, or bar)
- Actively engage customers and help drive sales across all three areas
- Make it your goal that every guest leaves with a coffee, a gift, or a drink
Barback & Coffee Support
- Keep the bar and coffee stations fully stocked (cups, lids, syrups, liquor, etc.)
- Maintain ice levels and assist bartenders and baristas during rushes
- Run glassware, wash dishes, and keep service areas clean
- Help prep basic items like garnishes or restocking grab-and-go items
Cleaning & Stocking
- Bus tables and keep lobby and seating areas clean at all times
- Stay ahead of dishes, trash, and recycling
- Restock retail displays and keep shelves organized and full
- Complete daily and weekly deep cleaning tasks
- Always be looking for the next thing that needs to be cleaned, stocked, or improved

- Ability to multi-task and move quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter who can stay busy without constant direction
- Team player who supports bar, coffee, and retail equally
- Willingness to clean, stock, and handle behind-the-scenes tasks
- Ability to follow direction and respect chain of command
