Landis Landscaping, Inc. is seeking a full-time experienced Chemical Application Technician to join our well established and growing company. We are currently looking for a motivated, responsible candidate with background knowledge of industry accepted practices.
Qualifications include:
* Current PA Category 07 license. Other Categories are a plus.
* Minimum of two years of related work experience.
* Valid driver’s license with knowledge handling towing trailers.
* DOT Medical Card or ability to pass a physical to obtain.
* Must be able to maintain necessary applicator certifications and continuing education.
* Ability to read labels and understand approved methods for handling, storing, loading, mixing and applying chemicals
* Must be able to work outdoors under varying weather conditions.
* Flexibility to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature, without loss of efficiency.
* Ability to communicate effectively to maintain relationships with coworkers, vendors, customers, and others in the workplace.
* Must have consistent and reliable attendance.
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities include:
* Apply turf treatments to ensure optimal lawn and plant health.
* Educate customers on lawn treatment services and diagnose issues.
* Keep up to date on all applicable laws, regulations and practices for chemicals applied.
* Knowledge of SDS sheets for chemicals used.
* Maintain daily log of work performed, chemical materials used, location, wind condition, application technique used, total material and any other comments.
* Maintain and inspect all equipment daily to identify any problems.
* Communicate with customers effectively and follow up on any concerns.
* Provide excellent customer service.
* Provide assistance to landscaping crews. Duties may include- mowing, trimming, pruning, clean-up, mulching, etc.
* Perform snow and ice removal.
* Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
Compensation bases on knowledge and experience. This is a full time position with a minimum 40 hour work week. Majority of hours will be Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 pm with an occasional Saturday or late night when needed. Benefits include holiday, vacation and IRA match.
