Position Summary
Industrial Wire Rope Supply Company, Inc. is seeking a dependable, hardworking Wire Rope Sling Fabricator / Warehouse Associate to join our team.
This hands-on position combines wire rope sling fabrication with warehouse operations. You will manufacture and assemble wire rope slings and rigging products while supporting inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and general warehouse operations.
No wire rope experience is required. We provide in house training on fabrication techniques, wire rope presses, gantry cranes, forklifts, and other equipment. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Wire Rope Fabrication
- Fabricate and assemble wire rope slings and related rigging products according to specifications and quality standards
- Measure, cut, swage, press, and assemble wire rope and hardware components
- Operate fabrication equipment including wire rope presses and gantry cranes
- Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
- Assist with product inspections at our facility, customer locations, and job sites when required
Warehouse Operations
- Receive, inspect, count, and stock incoming inventory
- Pull, package, and prepare customer orders for shipment
- Verify order accuracy prior to shipment or customer pickup
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment to load and unload trucks
- Organize inventory and maintain accurate stock levels
- Assist with inventory counts and inventory control procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
- Secure warehouse doors, equipment, and work areas at the end of each workday
Customer Service and Team Support
- Assist walk-in customers with product needs and order pickups
- Answer phone calls and provide basic customer support
- Work closely with the warehouse team, sales team, and fellow employees to achieve daily goals
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to use hand tools and learn fabrication equipment
- Previous warehouse, manufacturing, fabrication, rigging, construction, or industrial experience is preferred but not required
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and work on your feet throughout the day
- Safely operate forklifts, material handling equipment, and fabrication machinery
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions when necessary
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting pay: $17.00 per hour
- Weekly pay via direct deposit
- Monday through Friday schedule
- Regular hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
