Job Summary
The Life Enrichment Coordinator plans and carries out activities designed to meet the residents’ social and recreational needs. The Life Enrichment Coordinator is an essential member of the Resident Services team and works directly with the Director of Resident Services in attaining the goals of the department.
Role and Responsibilities
- Plans and carries out meaningful and life enriching activities for residents included but not limited to:
- Entertainers, speakers, outings, crafts, movie showings, etc.
- Prepares the monthly calendar of activities for the Independent Living and Alphonse House Unit.
- Create flyers, daily marquees, sign-up sheet and/or any other communication tools needed.
- Identify areas of need and appropriate steps to address such needs.
- Assist residents and family members with any needs or issues they may encounter.
- Produces menus for activities and works with the dietary to ensure these are accurate and prepared on time for activities.
- Completes all Relias Training courses and/or attend any mandatory in-service scheduled.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Must be a customer service-oriented person that exhibits courteousness, kindness, patience and tactfulness while working with residents, co-workers and guests.
- A demonstrated commitment to cause-driven mission and ability to uphold the mission and policies of The Village at Incarnate Word.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to collaborate with others.
- Well organized, detail-oriented, and able to consistently meet deadlines.
- A self-starter with the ability to take initiative, work independently and/or with limited supervision, and be accountable.
- Microsoft proficiency desirable.
Education and Experience Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Texas State Activity Director Certification (preferred).
- Relevant work experience (preferrable working with seniors or special need persons).
- Must have a valid Texas Driver License.
Working Conditions
- Weekdays and/or weekends as needed.
- At times, employees may bend, twist, lift, stoop, stand, sit, or walk 50% or more of the workday.
- At times will be required to drive a company vehicle to transport residents to activities.
- Ability to walk on uneven or rough terrain.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
