Job Summary
We are seeking motivated and experienced Owner Operators to join our dynamic transportation team. As an Owner Operator, you will leverage your expertise in commercial truck driving to deliver freight efficiently and safely across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) journeys. This role offers the opportunity to operate a range of specialized equipment such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, while maintaining compliance with all federal and state regulations. Your dedication to timely deliveries and safety will be instrumental in supporting our logistics operations and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated, flatbed, and tanker trucks, on OTR routes while adhering to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Navigate using GPS systems to ensure efficient routing and timely deliveries across multiple locations.
- Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, handling logistics cargo with care, especially when transporting hazardous or dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
- Manage delivery schedules by route driving, ensuring accurate delivery of freight while maintaining communication with dispatch teams.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to verify safety standards are met; perform routine truck loading and unloading procedures.
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Ensure proper handling of different types of freight including refrigerated goods, automobile transportation, or specialized cargo requiring specific handling procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving across diverse terrains.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for hazardous materials (Hazmat), tanker, or other specialized loads preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission trucks and equipment such as flatbeds or refrigerated trailers.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for manual handling and truck loading/unloading.
- Experience with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments during trips.
- Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures for various freight types including dangerous goods.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety compliance in accordance with DOT standards.
