Job Overview
Moceri Companies, a family-owned real estate developer and master planner since the 1950s, is seeking an experienced CABINET DESIGN/Estimator to join our team in the south east Michigan area. This role is critical in controlling construction costs, preparing accurate budgets, and ensuring our projects meet both financial and quality expectations.
As a CABINET DESIGN/Estimator, you will analyze construction drawings, obtain competitive bids from vendors and subcontractors, resolve cost discrepancies, and maintain up-to-date pricing databases. Your expertise will help guide decision-making, ensure fiscal responsibility, and contribute to the delivery of the high-end custom homes, apartments, and communities for which Moceri is known.

Key Responsibilities

Meet with clients, builders, and sales representatives to understand project requirements and design goals.
- Develop custom cabinet designs, layouts, and elevations using CAD and 2020 cabinet design software.
- Prepare detailed shop drawings, production drawings, and installation plans.
- Select appropriate materials, finishes, hardware, and accessories based on project specifications and budget.
- Ensure designs comply with building codes, industry standards, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Review project measurements and verify dimensions for accuracy.
- Collaborate with production, project management, and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Revise designs based on client feedback and project changes.
- Prepare material lists, cut lists, and bills of materials as required.
- Assist in estimating project costs and reviewing design feasibility.
- Maintain organized project documentation and design records.
- Stay current with design trends, materials, and cabinet manufacturing techniques.
Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architectural Technology, Cabinetmaking, Industrial Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in cabinet or millwork design preferred.
- Proficiency with cabinet design software and CAD programs specifically 2020
- Strong understanding of cabinetry construction methods, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent spatial visualization and technical drawing skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Valid driver's license may be required for site visits.
Preferred Skills

Knowledge of residential kitchen, bathroom, closet, and custom millwork design.
- Experience reading architectural and construction drawings.
- Familiarity with 3D rendering software.
- Strong problem-solving and project coordination skills.
Physical Requirements

Ability to visit construction sites and manufacturing facilities as needed.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
- Ability to occasionally lift materials or samples up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based with occasional visits to customer homes, job sites, and manufacturing facilities. The role requires close collaboration with sales, production, and installation teams to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
