Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and assess patient conditions with professionalism and urgency
- Provide basic life support (BLS), airway management, and critical care interventions as needed
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiology evaluations
- Administer medications and injections following established protocols while maintaining aseptic techniques
- Manage airway patency and perform venipuncture for blood draws or medication administration when required
- Operate emergency vehicles safely, demonstrating strong driving skills and adherence to traffic laws during urgent transports
- Collaborate with hospital staff during patient handoffs, ensuring accurate communication of patient status and care provided
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities, vital signs, and incident reports in compliance with medical standards
Requirements
- Valid EMT certification or Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) license with current credentials
- Prior experience in critical care settings such as hospitals or trauma centers, especially Level I or Level II trauma centers
- Proven experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or emergency room environments
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and pharmacology relevant to emergency care
- Skilled in airway management techniques, patient assessment, and vital sign monitoring
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical exertion during patient handling and transport tasks
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating emergency vehicles preferred
- Excellent communication skills for effective triage and patient interaction
