Contract Duration

Coaching contracts last for one school year, at which time they may be renewed by the building principal and/or athletic director.

Coaches are expected to perform their duties, including scheduling practices, contests, and tryouts in accordance with the best interests of the student-athletes and guidelines from relevant governing bodies.
Compensation
Supplemental contracts provide a percentage increase to the employee's base salary. Non-employees are paid a flat salary. Contact the building principal or athletic director for details.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Must pass a background check

Be a current employee in good standing in the HCSD

Possess relevant experience in the sport

Be able to learn and follow all applicable policies from all relevant governing bodies

Effectively and ethically liaison between the school district and students and guardians

Establish and maintain high standards for academic achievement, attendance, and behavior for student-athletes

Effectively coach and manage the team from a logistical, scheduling, and strategic perspective

Empower studentathletes to discover lifelong habits of fitness, selfdiscipline, and resilience while modeling sportsmanship and integrity.

With a dedicated assistant coach, you'll craft training plans, cultivate team culture, and elevate Houston County's presence through sportsmanship and athletic achievement.

Guide athletes toward scholarships, academic eligibility, and communityservice projects that showcase their leadership outside of the sport.

Work with our athletic director, community stakeholders, and parents to drive success.

Houston County High School seeks an energetic Head Softball Coach to lead its TSSAA-sanctioned program. The coach will develop student-athletes' fundamentals, strategic understanding, and sportsmanship, while fostering academic success and personal growth both on and off the field.
