Part-Time Construction Bookkeeper (In-Office)

Rize Construction is a growing commercial general contractor serving clients throughout Colorado. We specialize in commercial tenant improvements, retail, restaurant, office, industrial, and healthcare construction. We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Construction Bookkeeper to join our team and support our accounting, payroll, and administrative functions.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day bookkeeping and financial operations of the company. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment while supporting ownership and the project management team.
Responsibilities
- Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Enter vendor invoices and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Assist with job costing and project financial tracking.
- Prepare customer invoices and progress billings.
- Track subcontractor invoices, lien waivers, and retainage.
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements.
- Assist with payroll processing and maintain payroll records.
- Maintain employee files and assist with onboarding paperwork and PTO tracking.
- Prepare vendor W-9s and assist with annual 1099 reporting.
- Assist with sales and use tax filings.
- Maintain organized accounting and project documentation.
- Support ownership and the company's CPA with month-end and year-end reporting.
- Perform general administrative and bookkeeping duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Construction bookkeeping experience preferred.
- Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
- Sage 100 experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Experience
- Construction or contractor bookkeeping.
- Job costing.
- Payroll processing.
- Progress billing.
- Working with outside CPAs.
- Experience with accounting software such as Sage 100.
Schedule & Compensation
- Part-time position averaging approximately 20 hours per week.
- This is an in-office position based in Englewood, Colorado. Remote work is not available.
- $25.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
