General Office Floater (Part-Time or Full-Time)
Position Summary
The Administrative Floater is a cross-functional support position designed to provide administrative assistance throughout the company while developing a broad understanding of operations. This position will rotate through several departments, receiving hands-on training and gaining experience in various administrative functions. The goal is to develop a versatile team member capable of providing support wherever needed and serving as a backup for key administrative roles.
Training & Rotation Path
The Administrative Floater will progress through the following departments:
- Log Yard Administration
- Export Department
- Domestic Sales Administration
- Traffic Department
- Order Entry
- Accounting
- Marketing
- Reception / Front Desk Operations
Advancement through each department will be based on demonstrated competency, performance, attendance, and business needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Log Yard Administration
- Assist with log inventory records and documentation.
- Process reports and distribute information as needed.
- Support communication between the log yard, log buyers and office personnel.
Export Department
- Assist with export documentation and shipping paperwork.
- Maintain customer files and records.
- Support international order processing and tracking.
- Coordinate information with customers, carriers, and internal departments.
Domestic Sales Administration
- Assist with customer orders and sales support activities.
- Maintain customer records and databases.
- Support sales personnel with administrative tasks.
Traffic Department
- Schedule and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments.
- Track deliveries and resolve transportation issues.
- Maintain shipping records and transportation documentation.
Order Entry
- Verify pricing, quantities, and shipping requirements.
- Communicate order status updates to customers and internal departments.
- Maintain order records and supporting documentation.
Accounting
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Support data entry and filing functions.
- Assist with audits, reports, and special projects.
Marketing
- Assist with marketing materials, presentations, and promotional projects.
- Maintain marketing files and databases.
- Support website, social media, and advertising initiatives as assigned.
- Coordinate marketing-related administrative tasks.
Reception / Front Desk
- Answer and direct incoming telephone calls.
- Greet visitors and customers professionally.
- Process mail, deliveries, and visitor sign-ins.
- Maintain front desk coverage and provide general administrative support.
General Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support wherever needed throughout the company.
- Learn and understand departmental processes and procedures.
- Serve as a backup for administrative personnel during absences or peak workloads.
- Maintain confidentiality of company, customer, and employee information.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
- Perform data entry, filing, scanning, and recordkeeping functions.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability when transitioning between departments.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working with employees, customers, vendors, and visitors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

Pay Range: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Full-Time (Possibility of Part-time)
Reports To: Human Resources Manager and Department Managers during assigned rotations.
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Microsoft Office: 1 year (Preferred)
- Administrative: 1 year (Preferred)
