As our company continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the financial and administrative operations of the business. This position may be based in either our Mansfield or Plano location, depending on the successful candidate's location.

Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset schedules, and other supporting financial documentation.
- Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and financial forecasting.
- Prepare and review sales tax filings and other regulatory reporting.
- Coordinate with outside CPA firms, tax professionals, lenders, and auditors.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to ownership.
Human Resources & Administration
- Oversee payroll processing and payroll tax compliance.
- Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave administration.
- Maintain employee records and assist with recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding.
- Support employee relations and administration of company policies.
- Coordinate 401(k) deposits and reporting.
- Assist with organizational planning and administrative process improvements.
Risk Management & Operations
- Manage the company's commercial insurance programs, including property, casualty, workers' compensation, health benefits, and other business coverages.
- Coordinate insurance renewals and claims with brokers and carriers.
- Maintain business licenses, corporate records, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee office administration and provide support for company technology, vendors, and administrative systems.
- Perform other projects and leadership responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including financial statement preparation and month-end close.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and internal accounting controls.
- Experience with payroll, human resources, employee benefits, and insurance administration preferred.
- Small business or multi-location company experience strongly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with QuickBooks or comparable accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.

Physical Requirements
This position is primarily performed in an office environment. The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, including sitting, standing, walking, bending, and using a computer and other standard office equipment for extended periods. The position also requires occasional lifting or moving of office materials weighing up to 25 pounds and occasional travel between company locations.
