About us
The Vassalboro Community School serves over 400 students in Grades PK-8. We are seeking a student-centered, enthusiastic Assistant Principal to join our team. This position will be a school-year position with 5 days before school starts and 5 days after school ends added in the contract. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and leadership skills to promote increased student behavioral and academic achievement. They will work closely with the Building Principal to enhance a safe learning environment, foster positive school culture and community relationships and maintain the goals and mission of VCS.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education from an accredited institution; Master’s Degree preferred
- Certification as an Assistant Building Administrator (045)
- Minimum 5 years of successful teaching experience
- Background and experience with student discipline
- Background and experience with behavioral and academic interventions
- Background and experience with the MTSS process
- Demonstrate strong follow-through on commitments, deadlines, and responsibilities
- Uphold confidentiality and FERPA requirements with integrity in all circumstances
- Communicate clearly, consistently, and professionally in both written and verbal formats
