AB Marketing Group is a growing digital marketing agency serving local businesses across Northern New Jersey, NYC, and the DMV. We create scroll-stopping content for restaurants, medical spas, home services, retail brands, professional services, and more. Our mission? Help local businesses tell their stories through authentic, high-quality photo and video content.
We're building a reliable roster of talented content creators who can capture the moments that matter — whether it's a chef plating a dish, a roofing crew mid-install, a before-and-after transformation, or a business owner's story.
The Role
We're looking for a professional photographer/videographer to join our content production team as an independent contractor. You'll work on-site at client locations across New Jersey, capturing photo and video content that brings their brands to life.
You'll be the eyes of the brand. Your job is simple: show up prepared, execute the shot list professionally, deliver great footage, and make the client feel confident in their investment.
What You'll Do
Before the shoot: Review shot lists and creative briefs (provided 24-48 hours in advance), pack your equipment, confirm logistics, and arrive 15-30 minutes early to set up.
During the shoot: Capture professional photo and video using your own equipment and/or ABMG gear; execute shot lists efficiently (typically 2-6 hour shoots); shoot vertical-first for ads and reels, plus the stills websites need; apply real technical craft (composition, lighting, focus, exposure); and work independently with a professional demeanor.
After the shoot: Upload all raw footage to our cloud storage the same day, return any borrowed gear, and drop quick notes on highlights or issues (30 seconds — appreciated but not required).
What You Need
- Portfolio showing consistent professional quality (10-15 projects demonstrating variety). We watch everything you send.
- 3+ years of professional shooting experience (client work, not just personal projects)
- Your own professional camera kit: DSLR/mirrorless body, 2-3 lenses (wide, standard, telephoto), basic lighting, audio solution, tripod, memory cards
- Technical proficiency: manual exposure, focus techniques, basic lighting, composition fundamentals
- Based in or near New Jersey with reliable transportation (client shoots typically within a 30-60 minute radius)
- Professional reliability: show up on time (early), communicate proactively, deliver footage same day
- Weekday availability (most shoots 9am-5pm, occasional evenings/weekends)
Bonus points: Drone operation (Part 107), specialized experience (food, medical, automotive, real estate, construction/home services), strength in BOTH photo and video, agency or commercial production background, gimbal skills
