We are looking for a friendly, dependable, energetic and experienced Ancillary Technician/Medical Assistant for a busy Primary Care/Internal Medicine Practice. We have multiple clinic locations throughout the DFW and surrounding counties.
The Ancillary Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of clinical support tasks, including but not limited to administering EKGs, ear irrigation, nebulizer treatments, WAVI Neuro Scans, Spirometry, Allergy Testing and vaccines, under the supervision of healthcare providers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical procedures, excellent patient care skills, and a commitment to supporting the healthcare team in delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- EKG Administration: Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) on patients as ordered by the physician or healthcare provider. Ensure accurate electrode placement, correct lead configuration, and timely transmission of results to the healthcare provider.
- Nebulizer Treatments: Administer nebulizer treatments to patients with respiratory conditions, ensuring proper setup, patient education, and monitoring during and after treatment.
- Ear Irrigation: Perform ear irrigation procedures as needed to remove ear wax or debris, ensuring patient comfort and safety during the procedure.
- Vaccinations: Administer vaccines to patients according to established protocols, including flu, pneumonia, and other immunizations, while maintaining accurate vaccination records.
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients, collect relevant health information, and prepare them for the above procedures. Provide compassionate care and answer any questions regarding the procedures or treatments.
- Medical Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documentation of procedures performed, results, and any patient reactions or concerns into EMR System (eClinicalWorks)
- Patient Education: Educate patients on various procedures, their benefits, potential side effects, and aftercare instructions to ensure patient understanding and comfort.
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- 2-5 years’ experience in an outpatient doctor's office is preferable but not required.
- Experience with EKGs, nebulizer treatments, or administering vaccines is a plus.
- eClinicalWorks (ECW) Preferred
Skills:
- Bilingual (Spanish) candidates are preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on patient safety and comfort and demonstrating time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to understand and explain benefits and results of the ancillary services
- Proactively identify patients who can benefit from Ancillary Services
- Preparing for upcoming appointments, to include ensuring insurance verification is completed
- Follow provider documenting visits with the patient into the EMR as requested
- Understanding of diagnosis and CPT codes
- Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control practices, and HIPAA compliance.

Working Conditions:
- Full-time position Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Occasional exposure to bodily fluids, chemicals, and medical equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
References/Background check required.
