Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine care needs.
- Administer medications via IV infusion, injections, and other routes, ensuring adherence to aseptic technique and safety protocols.
- Manage complex clinical procedures such as catheterization, suturing, tube feeding, and ventilator management with precision and confidence.
- Document all patient interactions accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Epic or Cerner; ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s condition.
- Provide critical care in high-acuity environments such as ICU or trauma centers, including acute pain management and trauma medicine.
- Educate patients and their families on health coaching, medication administration, discharge planning, and disease management strategies.
Requirements
- Valid RN license in good standing with current state requirements.
- Proven experience in diverse clinical settings such as hospital medicine, emergency room, ICU, or long-term care facilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) is preferred.
- Critical care experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers or similar high-acuity environments is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Ability to perform advanced procedures such as phlebotomy, venipuncture, sterile processing, and specimen collection/processing.
- Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, patient education, and case management coordination.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or those requiring specialized memory or dementia care is a plus.
