VACANCY: The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill a temporary Athletic Trainer substitute ‘guest' teaching position for the 2026-2027 school year.
DATES: November 19, 2026 - March 10, 2027
JOB SUMMARY: The Athletic Trainer is responsible to the Building Principal and Athletic Director for the prevention, evaluation, immediate care, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries among student-athletes. This role involves managing the athletic training facility, executing return-to-play protocols, maintaining detailed medical documentation, and coordinating emergency action plans.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must hold a State of Illinois Athletic Trainer license- Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC)

Successful secondary (9–12) or collegiate athletic training experience (preferred).

Demonstrated skill in evaluating, treating, and rehabilitating athletic injuries, managing return-to-play protocols, and maintaining accurate medical documentation.

Knowledge of modern sports medicine techniques, injury prevention strategies, and emergency action planning.

Ability to organize and manage the athletic training facility to ensure a safe, efficient care environment for student-athletes.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with student-athletes, parents, coaches, physicians, and school administration.

Willingness to provide coverage for athletic events, practices, and co-curricular programs.
Salary Range: $32.50-$45.00/Hour
