Role Responsibilities
The Specimen Collector is responsible for accurately collecting, processing, and handling patient specimens while ensuring compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable healthcare regulations. This role serves as a key point of contact for patients and must demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional patient experience.
- Follow client-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company protocols.

Verify and document patient demographic, identification, and insurance information.

Collect, process, label, package, and ship laboratory specimens in accordance with established procedures.

Ensure specimen integrity by maintaining proper handling, storage, and transportation requirements.

Enter orders and maintain accurate specimen and patient documentation within applicable systems.

Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, and all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations.

Provide professional, courteous, and compassionate support to patients during specimen collection procedures.

Maintain a high level of accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.

Monitor supplies and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Collaborate with laboratory staff, healthcare providers, and clients to support efficient operations and quality service.

Assist with other duties as assigned to support business and operational needs.
Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.

Reliable transportation.

Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance if operating a personal vehicle for work-related activities.

Successful completion of a motor vehicle record (MVR) check.

Successful completion of a background check.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
