Project Engineering Team Lead
Location: Columbus, GA
Job Summary
The Project Engineering Team Lead is responsible for leading a team of Manufacturing Engineers and support personnel while serving as the primary liaison between the organization and customer stakeholders. This role ensures successful project execution, on-time delivery of engineering services, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers and support staff.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities across various job locations.
- Coordinate daily work assignments and ensure effective resource allocation.
- Review, approve, and validate completed work before submission to the customer.
- Monitor Statement of Work (SOW) progress and provide status updates to stakeholders and SOW owners.
- Maintain ongoing communication with customers, project teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Track project performance metrics and prepare detailed status reports.
- Identify, manage, and resolve overdue deliverables, quality escapes, and project risks.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and develop cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all export control regulations and ITAR requirements.
- Support additional operational, analytical, and reporting processes as needed.
- Foster a culture of accountability, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Minimum of one year of leadership or supervisory experience demonstrating the ability to lead teams and manage project deliverables.
- Four to seven years of relevant engineering, manufacturing, or project management experience.
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by applicable export control regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer-facing and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting aerospace or defense industry customers.
- Familiarity with Pratt & Whitney (P&W) processes and requirements.
- Knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles, project management methodologies, and continuous improvement practices.
- Experience working within ITAR-regulated environments.
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
