Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is prepared safely, maintaining strict adherence to food safety regulations and sanitation practices
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new ideas and ensuring consistency in dish presentation
- Handle food with care, following proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination
- Support kitchen operations during busy hours by efficiently managing meal preparation and plating
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout shifts
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent food service and meet customer expectations
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a related culinary role within the food industry or restaurant setting
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with dietary department requirements or dietary aide responsibilities is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills for seamless kitchen operations
- Familiarity with catering services, menu planning, and serving processes enhances versatility
