President/CEO
Salina Area Chamber of Commerce – Salina, Kansas
The Salina Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Executive Officer to lead one of the region’s most influential business organizations. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will provide strategic leadership, advocate for the business community, strengthen member engagement, advance tourism and community marketing initiatives, and foster partnerships that drive economic growth and quality of life throughout the Salina area.
Key Responsibilities
Lead implementation of the Chamber’s strategic vision and priorities.
Serve as the primary advocate for Chamber members and the business community.
Strengthen membership growth, retention, engagement, and value.
Collaborate with business, government, education, tourism, and community leaders.
Oversee community marketing, tourism promotion, and destination development efforts.
Manage organizational finances, staff, programs, and operations.
Represent the Chamber at public events, legislative meetings, and community initiatives.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, communications, economic development, nonprofit management, political science, community development, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Five to seven years of progressively responsible leadership experience in a chamber of commerce, economic development organization, nonprofit, business association, public/private partnership, government affairs role, destination marketing organization, community development organization, or comparable executive leadership setting.
Experience working with a volunteer board of directors, elected officials, business leaders, public agencies, and community partners.
Experience managing staff, budgets, programs, events, partnerships, and organizational strategy.
Completion of the U.S. Chamber Institute for Organization Management, Certified Chamber Executive designation, Certified Economic Developer credential, or similar professional development is preferred. A willingness to pursue relevant professional development may also be considered.
