About the Role
Harbor Care is seeking a motivated, outgoing Field Recruiter to build a strong pipeline of qualified Home Health Aide (HHA) and Personal Care Aide (PCA) candidates. This is a highly active, field-based role covering all five boroughs. Recruitment efforts will shift among neighborhoods and communities based on Harbor Care’s current staffing needs. The Field Recruiter will manage candidates from initial outreach through screening, onboarding, and assignment to a case.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit HHA and PCA candidates through training schools, job fairs, community events, local organizations, and other field-based outreach.
- Focus recruitment activity on priority neighborhoods and communities based on changing staffing needs.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with training schools, community organizations, and other recruitment sources.
- Speak with prospective caregivers, explain employment opportunities, and screen them for basic eligibility and certification requirements.
- Collect required applicant information and documentation.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with candidates throughout the screening and onboarding process.
- Work closely with the Recruitment and Coordination teams to help qualified caregivers complete onboarding and become assigned to available cases.
- Maintain accurate records of candidate activity, progress, and outcomes.
- Provide regular updates on recruitment activity, applicant status, and field results.
- Represent Harbor Care professionally within the communities we serve.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and appropriate automobile insurance.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout all five boroughs.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable approaching and speaking with prospective candidates in community settings.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple candidates at different stages of the hiring process.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working independently in the field.
- Basic computer and mobile technology skills.
- Home care recruiting experience, particularly recruiting HHA and PCA caregivers, is strongly preferred.
What Success Looks Like
- Maintaining a consistent pipeline of qualified caregiver candidates.
- Moving applicants efficiently through screening and onboarding.
- Following through with candidates until they are assigned to a case.
- Developing reliable and productive community recruitment sources.
- Adjusting recruitment efforts quickly based on Harbor Care’s changing staffing priorities.
- Maintaining clear, timely communication with candidates and internal teams.
Compensation and Travel
This is a full-time employee position with an annual salary of $40,000–$55,000, based on experience, plus performance-based bonuses. Approved business mileage is reimbursed at the prevailing IRS standard mileage rate. Harbor Care LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
