Overview
ESI is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our growing team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll administration, maintaining compliance with certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements, and adhering to all federal, state, and local payroll regulations. The Payroll Specialist serves as the final point of review to ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and alignment with company policies and procedures. This is a full-time, on-site position.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage the end-to-end weekly payroll process for over 350employees, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
· Process certified payroll reports and maintain compliance with prevailing wage requirements.
· Maintain prevailing wage rates within the payroll system.
· Review employee time records and supervisor approvals for accuracy.
· Process employee changes, deductions, garnishments, tax levies, PTO adjustments, and payroll corrections.
· Partner with Finance, Human Resources, and department managers to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
· Administer payroll tax setup and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
· Prepare payroll reports, audits, reconciliations, and ad hoc reporting.
· Assist with 401(k) administration, reconciliations, and regulatory audits.
· Respond to employee payroll questions professionally and confidentially.
· Recommend process improvements that enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
· Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
· 3-5+ years of certified payroll and prevailing wage experience in the construction industry.
· Experience processing payroll for a workforce of approximately 375 employees or larger.
· Strong understanding of certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage compliance.
· Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll, wage, tax, and labor laws.
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
· Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet strict deadlines.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information.
This is a full-time, on-site position, which offers a competitive salary and benefits package including bonus opportunities, profit sharing, 401k, PTO, health insurance, and more.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
