James E. Davis School is a state-accredited, non-public school committed to helping students succeed academically. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Licensed Special Education Teacher to instruct middle and high school students, with a focus on preparing high schoolers for graduation credit. Our teachers are well-supported, enabling them to focus on what they do best: teaching and inspiring students. Our Special Education teacher should hold at least a bachelor's degree in education or a related field. A valid K–12 teaching license or certification is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of curriculum, effective instructional strategies, and assessment methods. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to foster a student-centered, inclusive classroom environment, are essential. The candidate should be well-organized, demonstrate strong classroom management abilities, and be proficient in using educational technology to enhance learning.

Special Education Teacher – Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that meet the unique educational needs of students with disabilities.
- Provide specialized instruction in accordance with students' IEP goals and state educational standards.
- Assess student progress regularly and maintain accurate records of academic, behavioral, and social development.
- Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, related service providers, and Family Teachers to support student success.
- Modify curriculum, instructional methods, and classroom materials to accommodate diverse learning needs.
- Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes student engagement and independence.
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions to address academic and behavioral challenges.
- Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and Family Teacher conferences.
- Support students in developing social, emotional, communication, and life skills as appropriate.
- Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior support strategies and individualized behavior intervention plans.
- Participate in professional development activities and stay current on best practices in special education.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support student achievement and district goals.
Pay: $30.00 per hour
