About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Aerospace Engineer (NH-0861-03) to work at the Air Force SEEK EAGLE Office (AFSEO) in the Store Separations Branch (96 SK/SKI) at Eglin Air Force Base, FL.
AFSEO's Mission: Accelerate weapons development and certification by integrating as trusted experts from concept to combat and leveraging our robust Aircraft Store Compatibility data repository to deliver capabilities at the speed of innovation.
Purpose of Position: Store separation engineers apply engineering judgment to analysis of trajectory simulations, ground test data, and flight test data to recommend flight limits for store jettison and employment to ensure that stores exit the near aircraft vicinity without endangering the aircraft or degrading the function of the aircraft or store.

Typical 2026 salary range: $89,508 - $138-370 per year (includes Locality)
Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel possible

Desired Skills:
- Python coding and/or CAD modeling
- 2 years of experience with aerodynamics
- 2 years of Ground/Flight Test Experience related to aerospace systems
Major Duties:
- Determine, through analysis and/or test, safe and acceptable employment and jettison limits for legacy and developmental weapon systems on USAF fighter and bomber aircraft.
- Support and execute static ejection, wind tunnel, and separation flight tests on legacy and 5th generation platforms
- Review/guide contractor generated analyses in support of aircraft/weapon separation test planning and execution
- Coordinate analysis activities with the AFSEO Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) team
- Develop and test software requirements used in data analysis, modeling and simulation, and records management.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period
- Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest
- Obtain & maintain Security clearance
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- Possess a bachelor’s level degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field of study from an accredited institution (graduate engineering degree desired but not required)
- This position has been designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The incumbent must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements to acquire and maintain APDP Engineering & Technical Management Practitioner certification within 48 months of assignment
- Professional knowledge of aerospace engineering policies, theories, principles, and concepts and familiarity with other engineering disciplines
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply aerospace engineering rules and procedures in a variety of situations and recommend effective solutions to senior engineers
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Knowledge of computer operations and standard software applications.
