Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a key member of the rehabilitation team, you will assist licensed physical therapists in implementing treatment plans, supporting patient recovery, and ensuring optimal functional outcomes across outpatient clinical setting. Duties
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs.
- Implement physical therapy treatments, including manual therapy, trigger point therapy, and therapeutic exercises, to promote mobility and pain relief.
- Conduct clinical assessments and document patient progress accurately in accordance with clinical documentation standards.
- Operate medical equipment safely and effectively during therapy sessions, ensuring proper usage and maintenance.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals such as physicians, occupational therapists, and caregivers to coordinate comprehensive care strategies.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation and ensure compliance with electronic health records (EHR) management protocols.
- Support discharge planning by preparing patients for transition to home or other care settings, emphasizing safety and independence.
- Communicate clearly with clients and caregivers to explain treatment procedures, answer questions, and foster a positive therapeutic relationship.
Requirements
- Valid licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant in accordance with state or national regulations.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and related medical terminology.
- Proficiency in physical therapy treatment implementation including manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy.
- Familiarity with clinical assessment documentation standards and medical documentation practices.
- Experience operating medical equipment used in physical therapy sessions safely and effectively.
- Strong communication skills for effective caregiver interaction and client engagement.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans.
