Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable male CNA/ caregiver to provide one-on-one private duty care for an individual in the Lookout Mountain area. This position focuses on assisting with activities of daily living, mobility, companionship, and ensuring the client's safety, comfort, and dignity. The ideal candidate is reliable, patient, and committed to providing exceptional, person-centered care.
Schedule
- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 8:30 AM–12:30 PM
- Occasional Sundays as needed
- Additional shifts may be available based on your availability
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, one-on-one care to a private-duty client in an assisted living environment.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
- Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and mobility using gait belts, Hoyer lifts, or other assistive devices as needed.
- Monitor and report changes in the client's physical, mental, or emotional condition to the appropriate supervisor.
- Measure and document vital signs and accurately record care provided according to agency policies.
- Assist with medication reminders or medication administration, as permitted by certification, state regulations, and agency policy.
- Provide companionship and emotional support while promoting the client's dignity, independence, and overall well-being.
- Support clients with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, memory care needs, or other cognitive impairments using compassionate, person-centered care techniques.
- Follow individualized care plans and communicate effectively with family members, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment by following infection control procedures and safety protocols.
- Protect client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all agency policies.
- Participate in ongoing training and maintain required certifications and continuing education.
- Perform other caregiving duties as assigned within the scope of CNA and HCT certification.
Skills
- Current CNA certification or 1 year experience caregiving
- Experience with dementia or Alzheimer's care
- Experience with transfers and Hoyer lifts
- Reliable transportation
- Strong communication skills
- Compassionate, dependable, and professional demeanor
- Current CPR certification
- Valid PPD screening
