Mortgage Closer – 1–2 Years of Experience Required
Mortgage One Funding is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Mortgage Loan Processor - Post Closing Specialist to join our growing team in Clawson, Michigan. This position plays an important role in coordinating accurate, compliant, and timely residential mortgage closings.
The ideal candidate has at least one to two years of mortgage closing experience, understands the closing process from clear-to-close through funding, and can confidently communicate with lenders, title companies, processors, loan officers, and borrowers.
Responsibilities
- Review loan files to confirm all closing requirements and documentation are complete.
- Prepare, review, and coordinate initial and final Closing Disclosures and closing packages.
- Balance final Closing Disclosures with lenders and title companies.
- Verify fees, payoffs, taxes, insurance, cash-to-close amounts, and other closing figures for accuracy.
- Coordinate closing dates, signing details, funding requirements, and wire authorizations.
- Confirm all required documents and approvals are in place before funding.
- Work closely with processors, loan officers, lenders, title companies, and borrowers to resolve closing-related issues.
- Track loans through closing and funding while meeting required deadlines.
- Maintain accurate and organized loan records.
- Ensure files comply with company procedures and applicable federal and state mortgage regulations.
- Provide clear, timely, and professional communication throughout the closing process.
Qualifications
- One to two years of experience as a Mortgage Closer or in a closely related mortgage operations role is required.
- Strong understanding of residential mortgage closing procedures, Closing Disclosures, funding requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
- Previous experience using mortgage loan origination or document preparation software is required; experience with a specific system is not necessary.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and professionally.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with an operations team.
- Experience with refinance or mortgage brokerage transactions is preferred.
Schedule and Location
- Full-time position
- Monday through Friday
- 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
- In-office at 1055 W. Maple Road, Clawson, MI
- This is not a remote position.
