Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Deck Builder to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing durable, high-quality decks that meet specifications and safety standards. Your expertise will help transform outdoor spaces into functional, beautiful areas for relaxation and entertainment. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate deck assembly.
- Measure and mark dimensions accurately using tape measures, levels, and other hand tools to ensure precise framing and layout.
- Frame decks using dimensional measurements, carpentry techniques, and building erection methods for stability and durability.
- Install various materials including pressure treated lumber, composite & PVC decking, aluminum and composite railings, and other carpentry components to achieve desired aesthetics.
- Operate power tools and heavy equipment safely to cut, shape, and assemble deck components efficiently.
- Perform concrete forming and finishing tasks when necessary for foundational elements of deck structures.
- Install rebar reinforcement in concrete areas and ensure proper placement according to blueprints or schematics.
- Handle heavy lifting tasks safely while maintaining quality standards during construction or restoration projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to interpret technical drawings and adhere to construction plans.
- Maintain a clean work site by organizing tools, disposing of debris, and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
Skills
- Extensive experience in construction site work with a focus on deck building or related carpentry trades.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, interpreting schematics, and understanding technical drawings.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as saws, drills, hammers, levels, tape measures, and other power tools.
- Ability to perform dimensional measurements accurately for framing and composite/PVC decking projects.
- Knowledge of construction management principles to coordinate tasks efficiently on-site.
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations during project execution.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings like schematics or blueprints effectively.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and working in various weather conditions throughout the project lifecycle.

Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
