Benz Metal Products is looking to add a CNC Laser Setup Operator to our fabrication team! This individual is responsible for the daily setup and operation of CNC Laser machines per the specs of blueprint drawings. The machinist will setup the tools and may edit programs for tooling location assignment, and will operate the machines to produce the required number of parts, and complete all quality inspection tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Set up and operate one of a variety of CNC fabrication machines for established work
- Select proper program and/or fixtures; may occasionally edit program
- Load material in sheet bays
- Maintain cutting quality at acceptable production rates
- Perform first part and random part inspections according to protocol on job order
- Calculate machine specs and parameters based on the thickness and type of material use
- Account for time and work completed via online computer data collection system.
- Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistance.
- Report and document basic material, production and quality control issues.
- Maintain performance log books on assigned area equipment, report deficiencies to supervisor
- Participate in equipment preventative maintenance at the operator level
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have at least 2 years of operating CNC Laser cutting machines;
- Must have experience completing Production Setups
- Must have experience completing Quality Inspections, including reading blueprints
- Must have basic industrial math skills; including but not limited to adding, multiplying, converting simple fractions to decimals, etc.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Experience:
- Calipers: 2 years (Preferred)
- Manufacturing: 3 years (Preferred)
- CNC laser cutting: 3 years (Required)
