Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Register of Deeds Clerk to join our team. The Register of Deeds Clerk will be responsible for maintaining and organizing land records, property documents, and other legal papers. They will also assist the public in accessing these records and provide exemplary customer service.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Prior experience in records management, real estate, or a legal environment is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in computer systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update land records, property documents, and other legal papers
- Assist the public in accessing and understanding these records
- Respond to inquiries in person, via phone, and email
- Process requests for copies of documents and certificates
- Ensure the security and confidentiality of all records
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies as needed
- Perform other administrative tasks as assigned
Work Environment:
The Register of Deeds Clerk will primarily work in an office setting. This position may require occasional lifting of boxes and files.
