As a 3rd and 4th grade Special Education Teacher (LBS1) in Arlington Heights, IL your days will Include:
- Providing educational services to 3rd and 4th graders in a therapeutic day school setting
- Partnering with the classroom School Social Worker and 1-2 classroom aides to help support a caseload of 7-10 students
Job Details
- Position: Contract (option to renew for the following school year) in a therapeutic day school setting
- Hours: Full-time (Monday - Friday); schedule/start times are as follows (all end times are 3:15 PM daily): Monday/Friday: 8:30; Tuesday/Thursday: 8:15; Wednesday: 7:45
- Caseload: 3rd and 4th grade, 7-10 students
Successful Candidates Possess
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related education field from an accredited college or university
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) Endorsement required (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date)
- Experience collaborating with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Experience in a therapeutic day school setting a plus!
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to collect and analyze student data to monitor progress and inform instruction
- Successful completion of all required background checks and district onboarding requirements
- The ability to work in the U.S. without a sponsor
