Nurse Practitioner (1099 Independent Contractor) – Part-Time
Florida Helps is a premier medical detox and residential treatment facility dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey to recovery from substance use disorders. We are committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care in a supportive, family-oriented environment.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Practitioner to join our clinical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-driven provider who is passionate about addiction medicine and mental health. The ideal candidate will be confident working independently, bring fresh ideas to patient care, and collaborate effectively with our multidisciplinary team to support clients in early recovery.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and evaluations
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
- Assess, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders across the lifespan, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, and substance use issues.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
- Assess and manage patients' mental health needs
- Prescribe medications and monitor treatment plans
- Educate patients on health conditions, medications, and wellness strategies
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR).
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
- Stay current with medical research, clinical guidelines, and continuing education requirements.
Position Details
- Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
- Schedule: Part-Time (18–20 hours per week maximum)
- Hours: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
- Compensation: $60 per hour

Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from an accredited program.
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in the applicable state.
- National certification (e.g., AANP or ANCC).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required depending on the specialty.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of Nurse Practitioner experience in primary care, family practice, urgent care, or a related specialty.
- Detox experience a plus
- Experience with chronic disease management.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
