American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg position in Iowa, requiring an active IA or Compact RN license and current BLS and ACLS certifications, working full-time night shifts on a 13-week contract.

Adult Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting

Full-time night shifts, 12 hours per shift (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM)

Rotating weekends and holidays required

13-week contract

Active Iowa RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association required

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
-
Experience preferred but not required

Two recent employment references required for consideration

DOB and SSN may be required for consideration

Provide total patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs
-
Responsible for patient teaching and directing activities of ancillary personnel in accordance with professional nursing standards

Required immunizations include: MMR (2 doses or positive titers), Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines), Polio, Hepatitis B series/titer or signed declination, current TDaP (within 10 years), and flu vaccine during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)

TB testing required: negative 2-step Mantoux within 1 year of start, or QuantiFERON Gold (if positive, proof of positive result and chest X-ray required)

Proof of physical exam within 1 year of start date required

10-panel drug screen within 1 month of start date required

Respiratory fit test within 1 year of start date required (facility can provide if unavailable)

Criminal background check required for all states where licensure is held or where candidate has lived/worked in the past 7 years

Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certificates (Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse) required prior to start
