Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable, organized, and patient-focused team member to support the daily operations of our growing interventional pain management practice. This position will primarily manage front-office operations while assisting with insurance and administrative workflows to ensure a seamless patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
- Schedule new and established patient appointments.
- Coordinate and manage new patient referrals.
- Schedule diagnostic imaging, including MRIs and other imaging studies.
- Prepare provider schedules by obtaining outside medical records and coordinating documentation before patient visits.
- Verify insurance eligibility and patient benefits.
- Obtain prior authorizations for in-office procedures and services.
- Maintain accurate patient demographics and appointment information within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Provide excellent customer service while assisting patients with scheduling, insurance questions, and general inquiries.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure efficient daily office operations.
- Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and outside offices.
Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting required
- Experience with patient scheduling, insurance verification, and prior authorizations
- Familiarity with commercial insurance and Medicare; Workers’ Compensation and MVA experience is a plus
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, EMR/EHR systems, and web-based insurance portals
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with a professional, patient-focused demeanor
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills with close attention to detail
- Dependable, proactive, and resourceful, with the ability to work independently and take initiative
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing practice, work collaboratively with a team, and take on additional responsibilities as the role evolves
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in healthcare administration is a plus
