The Maintenance Technician is a key contributor in supporting a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties to care for, optimize, and repair equipment, machinery, and facilities at Airgas USA, LLC. This role helps foster the safe and efficient operation of plant assets.
Responsibilities
- Support and care for preventative maintenance on production equipment, including motors, pumps, compressors, valves, and electrical systems.
- Investigate, understand, and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic operational opportunities on various industrial machinery.
- Help restore and update defective parts, components, and systems.
- Apply technical tools, power equipment, and precision measuring instruments to maintain system health.
- Read, interpret, and learn from blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Partner with the team on the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to support shared team knowledge.
- Foster and champion a culture of safety, following company policies and environmental standards.
- Share in on-call coverage and support the team during emergency breakdowns as needed.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Partner closely with production teams to minimize downtime, build alignment, and optimize overall equipment performance.

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or a similar role
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical (up to 480V), pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in various physical positions.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or a related field
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial gas environment.
- Experience with PLCs and motor controls
- Basic welding and fabrication skills
