Sterling Legal is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to support our recruitment and business operations. The successful candidate will transform recruitment and operational data into actionable insights that improve hiring strategies, business performance, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and analyze recruitment and business data from multiple sources.
- Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and performance metrics.
- Monitor recruiting KPIs, placement trends, client activity, and candidate pipelines.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries for querying large databases like Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and SQL databases to support reporting needs.
- Identify trends and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, perform analysis, and translate needs into technical specifications for dashboards and reports.
- Support forecasting, workforce planning, and business growth initiatives.
- Prepare weekly and monthly analytical reports for leadership.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with company policies.
- Collaborate with recruiters, management, and business development teams to support strategic decisions.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytics-focused role with a strong understanding of Business Intelligence concepts.
- Demonstrated proficiency with SQL databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle; experience with query management is essential.
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools including Tableau, Power BI, or Looker is required.
- Strong skills in data modeling, database design, and analysis techniques using R, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Familiarity with ETL processes using Talend or comparable tools; experience with Linked Data integration is a plus.
- Knowledge of SDLC processes related to software development lifecycle analysis within analytics projects.
- Ability to analyze complex datasets using Excel data analysis features combined with advanced analysis skills in other tools like VBA or Bash scripting in Unix environments.
- Experience working within Agile teams on cross-functional projects involving requirements analysis and dashboard development.
- Excellent communication skills for translating technical insights into clear business recommendations; experience in business analysis is highly valued.
Preferred Skills
Experience within the staffing, recruitment, legal, or professional services industry.
Knowledge of data visualization and business intelligence tools.
