The HR Generalist will be responsible for daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department to include recruitment and hiring, leave of absence administration and HRIS database maintenance. This role will also provide general, administrative support for the HR Director across a wide variety of HR functions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation; Tracks and ensures compliance of documentation including training, licensure and certifications.
· Posts Jobs, Recruits, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; Collaborates with departmental managers to understand needs and competencies required for openings.
· Acquires background checks, offer letters, and other new-hire eligibility verification.
· Processes HRIS Personnel Action Forms and performs routine tasks required to administer New Hire, Compensation and/or Termination actions.
· Monitors the completion of Training Cards and assists with Training card automation and other Training initiatives.
· Assists HR Director with Management New Hire Orientation; Provides assistance and guidance to Managers regarding company policies, procedures and processes.
· Tracks and reports progress for employee recognition and high-potential employee programs.
· Manages Leave of Absence and other health and safety programs.
· Provides assistance with policy and employee handbook updates and announcements.
· Provides guidance regarding appropriate HR practice and policy implementation; Assists HR Director in putting appropriate HR Infrastructure and Reference Tools in place for Management.
· Provides system maintenance and system updates across a variety of recruitment and HR software.
· Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, company events, and holiday parties,
· Helps ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
· Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of all human resource files and records.
· Functions as back-up for Payroll and Benefit Coordinator.
· Performs a wide variety of administrative duties to support the HR Director and HR function.
· Performs other duties as assigned.

· Ability to quickly learn the organization’s policies, procedures and systems.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
· At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.
· Spanish Bi-Lingual preferred, but not required.
· SHRM-CP and/or desire to earn HR Certification a plus.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
· Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
