American Traveler is hiring a travel MRI Technologist with at least 2 years of experience and ARRT certification for a 13-week assignment in a fast-paced hospital MRI department.

Hospital-based Radiology MRI department

Fast-paced environment requiring the ability to work independently

12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week

Weekend shift schedule: either Friday–Sunday or Saturday–Monday, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM

Uses GE and Siemens 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners
-
Epic EMR experience preferred

Images sent and managed through PACS system
-
Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience required

ARRT certification required
-
BLS (AHA) required
-
MA state license required if applicable

Experience with GE and Siemens 1.5T and 3T scanners required

Epic EMR experience preferred

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for this position

Prepare and position patients for MRI of various body parts, including setup of coils and monitoring devices
-
Screen patients and personnel for ferrous metal implants or other contraindicated objects
-
Select and record appropriate pulse sequences; recommend protocol changes to optimize diagnostic value
-
Evaluate scan results for quality and completeness; manipulate and display images for physician review
-
Start IV lines for patients requiring contrast and monitor for contrast reactions, escalating to radiologist or code team as needed

Maintain accurate records, department statistics, and billing entries in the hospital computer system

Participate in the teaching and clinical evaluation of MRI students and technologists as needed

Participate in continuing education activities both during and outside of normal working hours

COVID vaccine with booster and flu vaccine required; medical exemptions are accepted

Candidates who have worked at any facility within the same health system in the past 6 months (as a traveler, per diem, or permanent employee) are not eligible
