Stonewater, Inc. is seeking an experienced, reliable, and results-driven Construction Superintendent to support our growing residential construction portfolio in the Asheville, NC area. Reporting to the Program Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing residential rehabilitation and new construction projects in a scattered lot environment.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to quality, safety, and customer service. This position requires discretion, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage residential rehabilitation and new construction projects from start to completion
- Develop, maintain, and enforce aggressive project schedules to ensure on-time delivery
- Manage project budgets, track costs, and prepare progress and status reports
- Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Promote job site safety by enforcing safety standards, encouraging safe work practices, and correcting hazards immediately
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure compliance with plans, codes, and company standards
- Read, interpret, and implement engineered plans and specifications
- Oversee punch list development and completion
- Work directly with homeowners to address concerns and maintain positive relationships
- Assist with permit applications, inspections, and regulatory compliance
- Support the Program Manager with additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential construction, rehabilitation, and/or new home construction
- Must reside in or near Asheville, NC and be available for approximately 25% travel, primarily within the region
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet assigned deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction and engineered plans
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn firm-specific software
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with a high degree of integrity and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and project demands
Preferred Qualifications
- College coursework or degree in Construction Management or a related field
- Experience managing projects in a scattered lot environment
