Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Class A Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating and setting up CNC and manual machines to produce high-precision components. This role requires expertise in machine processes, blueprint reading, and quality inspection to ensure products meet strict specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC and manual machines, including mills, lathes, grinders, and other precision equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T symbols, and engineering specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Program, edit, and optimize G-code/M-code for CNC machines as needed.
- Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and work holding devices.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs.
- Ensure tight tolerances and high-quality finishes in machined parts.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and quality inspectors to improve processes and efficiency.
- Train and mentor junior machinists as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in Machining in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in operating and setting up CNC and manual machines.
- Strong knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and machining instructions.
- Experience with CNC programming (G-code, M-code) is a plus.
- Familiarity with CMMs and other precision measuring instruments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical certification or apprenticeship in machining (preferred).
