Part-time Position (Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 7:00 AM to 1:30 PM, Sunday 7:00AM to 12PM)
POSITION SUMMARY: Amherst Innovative Living, LLC is a Massachusetts-based firm specializing in managing the finest living communities in the area. With five operational communities, Amherst Innovative Living leads the market in offering unparalleled customer service and living experiences. We are seeking a part-time, hard-working, proactive, and reliable Janitor and Groundskeeper who will assist with the completion of daily cleaning, landscaping, snow removal and preventative maintenance for a growing portfolio of apartments. The goal is to ensure that facilities are always in excellent, clean and safe condition. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The job duties listed below are representative of the essential job functions and are not exclusive. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned with or without prior notice.
- Routine cleaning and sanitizing of offices, meeting rooms, models, bathrooms, the fitness center, and lobby for assigned buildings
- Cleaning and preparing bedrooms and apartments for move-ins or transfers
- Manage routine upkeep of exterior areas, green space and parking areas
- Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified work orders
- Remove garbage and recycling daily and prepare bins for pick-up
- Water, hand weed, mulch, weed whack and leaf blow landscaped areas
- Snow removal, salting and de-icing of common areas and walkways
- Working with maintenance staff on various community improvement projects
- Communicating effectively with management and residents about service requests
- Organizing and keeping inventory of cleaning supplies and janitorial items required for each assigned community
- Providing excellent customer service to our residents
OTHER DUTIES:
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor
COMPUTER EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Proficiency with Google Workspace, Slack
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Education: A high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) is required. A degree from a vocational school is preferred.
Experience: At least one year of proven experience in a Janitorial and/or Landscaping role.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Maintain a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
- Read, write, and communicate in English as well as have basic mathematical skills
- Be able to multitask and manage competing priorities

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described represent those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. On occasion, it may be necessary to do the following:
- Lift, carry, or manipulate a minimum of 50 lbs., unassisted
- Travel between company locations throughout the local area
- Stand, walk, drive, sit, stoop, reach, bend, stretch and climb stairs during the entirety of the scheduled shift
- Operate a computer and have specific vision abilities, including close and distance vision, and the ability to adjust visuals while working with a computer and other business equipment
