Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, highly-competent, socially-skilled Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate is the kind of person who could run the firm yourself--on top of everything, ahead of everyone in tracking what needs to happen, and moving things forward effectively at lightening speed. This position provides comprehensive support to attorneys specializing in family law matters, ensuring that all drafting, client communication, filing, scheduling, and other processes are handled with incredible precision and efficiency--often completing things for attorneys before they thought to ask. This role requires strong organizational skills to manage large client caseloads, attention to detail, and the highest standards of professionalism and responsiveness in managing clients and attorneys in a fast-paced legal environment. It also includes client acquisition and following up with and onboarding potential new clients who have reached out for help.
Duties
- Assist attorneys in drafting legal documents, including petitions, motions, discovery requests, and orders related to family law cases.
- Manage case files and maintain organized documentation using document management systems.
- Conduct interviews with clients to gather relevant information and assist in case preparation.
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and compliance with TRCP and Local Rules.
- Maintain communication with clients, courts, and other parties involved in family law cases, including potential new clients, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Organize and manage project timelines to ensure deadlines are met effectively.
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing calendars.
- Consistently impresses both colleagues and clients by being one step ahead of everyone and going above and beyond to be effective and make everyone around you effective.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a family law paralegal.
- Strong knowledge of family law procedures.
- Proficiency in document management systems.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong proofreading skills, with attention to detail.
- Effective interviewing skills for gathering client information.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
