About the Role
ATA National Title Group is seeking a Senior Accounting Associate to support the day-to-day accounting operations of the company and its joint ventures. This role is responsible for bank reconciliations, accounts payable, journal entries, and accounting workpapers, with direct involvement in preparing financial statements for the company's joint ventures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in Excel to manage a high volume of transactions and support a fast-paced monthly close process.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform bank reconciliations across company and joint venture accounts on a recurring basis
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice processing, coding, payment runs, and vendor account maintenance
- Review invoices and payables for accuracy, proper coding, and approval prior to payment
- Prepare and post journal entries in support of the monthly close process
- Maintain accurate, well-organized accounting workpapers and supporting schedules
- Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules for the company's joint ventures
- Support month-end close activities and respond to requests for supporting documentation during the annual audit
- Process accounting transactions and maintain records within Sage Intacct
- Build and maintain Excel-based schedules and analyses, including reconciliations with multiple data sources
- Collaborate with the Controller and broader accounting team on ad hoc projects and process improvements
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred
- 2+ years of accounting experience, including hands-on bank reconciliation and accounts payable work
- Strong proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, formula-based reconciliations)
- Experience with Sage Intacct or similar ERP systems preferred but not required
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail when working with financial data
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
Work Environment
This position is based in our Farmington Hills, MI office and works in-office Monday through Friday. Remote work may be permitted on an as-needed basis at the discretion of the Controller.
