Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently for retail sales transactions, including cash register operations and cash handling
- Conduct product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities to maximize sales
- Maintain accurate stock levels through stocking, merchandising, and inventory management to ensure product availability
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, offering product recommendations, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
- Handle retail math calculations accurately for transactions, discounts, and returns while managing the cash drawer responsibly
- Promote store promotions and new products through engaging communication skills and product knowledge
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery or specialty stores such as smoke shops or similar environments
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and cash handling procedures
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear product explanations and excellent phone etiquette
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a diverse customer base effectively
- Supervising experience is advantageous for those interested in leadership development within the team
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and basic math skills for daily operations
- Experience in product demos, upselling strategies, and customer service excellence is highly valued
